he work hard fo de money, so hard fo de money

i promised myself that i wouldn't whine and complain on here...but promises are made to be broken. this work week lasted FORRRREVERRRR. i mean, in college you talk about the 9 to 5, but nobody told me that it really is more like 9 to 9 or whenever you're done. the only reason there's no homework in a real job, is because you have to stay till you finish it. it just goes to show that i definitely live for the weekend and, PRAISE JESIS, it's here.

that said, i return to your previously scheduled broadcast...

last sunday rocked me sockies! i slept in, as usual, only to wake up and ride my bike from bar to bar with 20 of my closest friends. a friend of mine started this thing where we all meet at a bar, and ride to a half dozen other bars through the night, drinking all along the way. it's really great for three reasons: 1. I can call it exercise, 2. people don't care that you smell like sweaty alcohol, 3. what else am i gonna do on a sunday evening?! but, unlike the prior beer bomb bike tour, i had to work the next day. so after 4 bars, countless new friends whom i'll probably forget i met, a few cuts and scrapes, and some pictures that i'm gonna regret when i finally see them (like the one of me french kissing my friend Patilia's nose), i had to retreat home and tuck myself for rest in anticipation of a long week.

honestly though, the week zipped by. i think it's mostly because every time i came home from work i basically went straight to bed, only to wake up and return to work. i didn't get to drink any wine with autumn, nor did i get my daily phonecall in to jonny g king '03. ...once again, i digress. back to the fun stuff.

so last night a bunch of my friends and I got tickets to see the dashboard concert at house of blues. now i bought these tickets quite some time ago, and have anxiously been awaiting this evening of musical madness. we all got to the concert house early, i got to use my handy little skip-the-line pass, and we quickly began eating, drinking, and reciting all the dashboard songs we could remember. unfortunately they had TWO opening acts, neither of which i cared about, and we had to wait forever to see the main event. but the upside to that was that we were at a bar! awaiting the band i ate about 20 pounds of french fries, drank a few beers (that were maybe the size of a juice box), had a couple shots, met a girl who is cinderella at disney world, met her friends from chicago (one of the best cities, ever) and had more shots with them, paid the paper towel guy in the bathroom enough money to feed 8 of sally struthers' starving children in africa, returned to my "vip" seat only to find that my friend had sold it for a mixed drink, and then as a grand finale, had the aforementioned mixed drinking spilled on my head. once the band started i thorougly enjoyed myself, playing the air guitar and drums and dancing around as though i was at a high school prom (which i believe most of the other people there were too young to attend). when the concert finally let out, it was waaaay past my bedtime so i just came home and went straight to bed.

so today it begins again. a couple of friends just returned from military duties in the middle east, so i'm sure the catching up that we all do tonight will be promptly forgotten by morning, due to the massive amount of wine we're sure to drink. but before i do that i'm going to an "adult items" store to stock up on party favors for a bachelor/bachelorette party next week. so basically, if my memory comes with me to the wine bar tonight, i'm sure i'll have some juicy stories for you tomorrow. otherwise, this coming week will give me plenty of reason to, as we say in "the biz," put finger to keyboard.
